To cheer you up I mean....

One option is taking drugs of course, I've noticed my craving for substances is way bigger when I'm down than when I'm feeling ok. But it's only making things worse in the long run because I feel even worse the day after (at least most of the times...).

Another thing that works for me is music! Buying a new album I really like or finding a rare LP is always cheering me up. Yesterday I took my discman and went for a long walk in the sun, felt much better afterwards! Also buying an interesting book helps, so I can sink into a new world. Then there are my cats, lying in bed and cuddle with them helps. And of course doing the same with my gf also!

What about you, what cheers you up?

My favorite foods actually do. Popcorn, nacho's, cheese crisps, and all that good stuff.

I like to do take photographs which either reflect my mood or make me happy, and/or drive fast and hit the apexes of turns, etc. There's nothing more harmonious than the howl of Pirrellis on the hot desert pavent.

Sex and a little bit of pot here and there. And playing guitar. Most of the time now is guitar. And sex and pot.

To make me happy, I listen to faster, more up-beat music, and I talk to people about something funny.
Stress food is nice too.

Listen to good music.
Eat good food.
Get up and move around (getting exercise can break a bad mood).
Watch a comedy.
Meditate.
Etc.

The right music can alter my mood. Talking to those I love really pulls me back together, and we don't even have to discuss what’s bothering me. Simply talking to them and having a few laughs has the power to be uplifting. Taking a walk might just be the best method to get me in a good mood, especially at night. Walks alone, where I can contemplate various aspects of life and marvel at the beauty around me will virtually always put me back in a good mood. I don't often get depressed, though, so I rarely have the opportunity to discover my own techniques of self-recovery.

My previous post about what I do when i'm feeling down was pure sarcasm. In actuality, I feel down quite a bit. It just seems like my lifes going nowhere, and things can be a bit...trying. As for what I do about it? Good music, reading books, and playing certain games definitely helps. But, i've found the greatest remedy is accomplishing something. Even if it's writing down some crappy ass poetry, or writing a game review, it's something. I'm at my weakest when I have nothing to show for myself.

Accomplishing something is certain to put you in a better mood, especially when it's something that forms progress. I think it is the tremendous feeling of relief that comes over us. It may just be the best emotion ever. Knowing that you have finished something and can finally move on to the next adventure. I felt excellent at the end of winter term. I usually treat myself to something special afterwards. I adore defeating a game, then being able to move on to my next game. Ah! It's so nice.
