It's pretty cool. Graphics...aren't anything special, but it's not like they were really needed. The gameplay is still as fun as it has always been, the inclusion of twelve racers makes for chaotic matches, the new vehicles give the game a bit more...personality, too, I believe. I hate that, rather then two NEW characters, they threw in Baby Mario and Peach (No Shyguy? No Boo? Fuck you Nintendo >:O).

Nintendo isn't the type to go out of its way to make new characters when they KNOW they can just recycle the old. Also, I shall be able to play MKWii soon enough. I shall be Yoshi-ing it up.

Yoshi is my character you whore!

And besides, I didn't mean NEW characters. They've ditched a lot of characters they have been using over the past games and I especially despise the baby forms...

>_> Doesn't matter. I just felt like pointing out one of the reasons I want to bitch slap Nintendo. I LIKE NEW THINGS. But...yeah...Yoshi is mine, bitch.

No, Yoshi is mine. I've obsessed over the green dinosaur since I first played the game. Yoshi was my original "favorite" character and if people try to take him when I play Mario Kart/Party, I take them down. >_>

Well then, I guess you have a huge problem *giggles*. I'm not relinquishing Yoshi unless you make it worth my while.

I'm sure we will discuss those terms eventually. >_>

I'm, personally, undefeated in Mario Kart. The only time I've ever lost was online, with my friend's DS, because R.O.B. is uber-powered >_<

You give me Yoshi, submit, and I'll do whatever you please.

I hate how they massacred the block level though, that was always my favorite place.

I'm having a ton of fun with MKWii, it's a hell of a lot better than Double Dash, that's for sure. I love the Wii Wheel and I like how they completely revamped the classic tracks (except for the GCN tracks since they didn't need revamping) and the inclusion of bikes isn't necessary, but it does offer some new variety.

I agree that a lot of vehicles were kind of ridiculous, but it's nice to see a change from just the karts.

Also, I hate how much manual sucks, I lost every race with it. I JUST WANTED TO BE ABLE TO HOP AGAIN DAMMIT.

Some people have considered this game "mindless fun."

I'd have to agree with the "mindless fun" but, well, except I didn't have any fun. Granted, I wasn't playing with the Wiil, but that hardly has anything to do with how the game's mechanics function. Oh, don't mistake, they weren't faulty, but they left me wanting more, a lot more. I can jump from 12th to 2nd place by basically holding A and moving the stick around a little; there's really nothing in the way of skill you need to win, let alone to play.

The game is also almost entirely based on chance. There are so many random offenses and boosts that it's nearly impossible to know what place you'll be in 30 seconds before the race is over. I'd much prefer to play without any of the boosts/power-ups, really. Even THEN the game lacks a lot in certain aspects of level design. Sometimes the textures on the side of cliff look nearly identical to what's on the ledge. Sure, after you've remembered the course, it's fine, but it's still an inexcusable flaw on the graphical development team's part. On that note, there's so much detail on the character models and vehicles, but so LITTLE in the courses. It doesn't even appear as though the drivers are in the environment. I'm seeing flower patches that look, no hyperbole intended, as though they were rendered on the N64 engine, and textures that aren't far behind.

A strength would be the terrains' effects on drivers, but previous entries have executed this principle much more strongly. If anything else, Motorstorm performed in this genre more than this game even seems to have the potential to.
